Reel Service offers an extensive range of Carrier Tapes, manufactured on site in the UK using top quality, high specification base materials. Our in-house design expertise, custom tooling and material manufacturing capabilities ensure well defined, strong pocket formation including deep pocket forming.
Because the tape forming operations for many American & European carrier tape manufacturers are in SE Asia, for carrier tape users in Europe & North America the lead-time for carrier tape shipped via sea-freight can be 12 weeks or more, a whole fiscal quarter!
This means that extensive materials resource planning and shipping logistics must be considered up to 4 months in advance. For many customers this is not acceptable and local supply solutions must be sought, this is where Reel Service provides a major competitive advantage for European customers.
All carrier tape Engineering Design is performed in-house by our experienced team permitting quick responses to customer questions raised during the design phase eliminating the time lag issues typically encountered when dealing with vendors on another continent 7-8 hours ahead.
Further strengthening our capability and maintaining our ability to control lead-time, tooling manufacture is performed in-house providing a fully vertically integrated carrier tape manufacturing process. This provides in-house capability for manufacture of tooling and also capability for ongoing maintenance and repair of tooling.
Another in-house capability helping to reduce process time is the ability to slit raw sheet materials to specific customer requirements, which again shortens carrier lead-time and allows Reel Service to maintain tight control of the whole carrier tape supply process from initial enquiry through to design, manufacture & supply.

Our static dissipative cover tapes are available in both heat seal and PSA (cold seal) and in a large assortment of widths.

EcoReel by Reel Service provides an ideal choice for users looking for a 13" (330m) diameter antistatic plastic reel for transport, storage and feeding of taped and reeled components.
EcoReel is easily assembled together using a simple toolless rotational click mechanism which allows multiple reel widths to be assembled from only 4 EcoFlange reel half sizes.
Combinations of 4mm, 8mm, 16mm & 28mm EcoFlange reel halves can be combined to make the following assembled reel widths:
The benefits of only having to stock 4 different parts to create 7 different finished reel widths are many, providing greater flexibility and lower cost of ownership.

EcoFlange uses minimal packaging materials, all of which are non-bleached corrugated card which is commonly recycled.

Our Moisture Barrier Bags (MBB) are manufactured from multiple layers and designed to provide packaged components with the ultimate protection from moisture and static damage. The bags also have a Moisture Sensitive Caution label pre printed on the outside.
MBB’s are available in a range of sizes to suit reels ,trays & tubes and meet the requirements of
J-STD-033, MIL-PRF-81705 Type 1, EIA 541, EIA583 and EIA625.
The bags have a bottom fold and a 2 x 10mm seal configuration.

When packaged components are sealed within a Reel Service Moisture Barrier Bag, a Reel Service Humidity Indicator Card (HIC) will indicate the humidity level when the bag is opened.
Our HIC’s meet the requirements of EIA581, MIL-I-8835, J-STD-033, and MIL-P-116.

In addition to providing Tape & Reel services and in-house manufacture of standard & custom carrier tapes, Reel Service also provides customers a broad choice of materials to support their own in-house carrier tape manufacture.
Jumbo Rolls which provide the flat sheet necessary for carrier tape manufacture are available in a range of conductive & non-conductive material types with thicknesses ranging from 200µ to 500µ.
Using our in-house flat sheet slitting & converting capability, Reel Service also provides pre-cut/ pre-slit Coils in a broad range of conductive & non-conductive materials & thicknesses with many popular sizes available from stock.
Reel Service understands that each customers slit coil requirements differ greatly so we offer our extensive experience in slitting & forming to provide customers with a custom slitting service to meet customer's exact requirements.
