With one third of the year already behind us, Spring is in the air, the trees are in bloom and natures growing season is well underway. However, growth at Reel Service hasn’t waited until Spring as we continue to experience increasing business levels across all key areas.
April turnover is at it’s highest level for over 16 years and year on year comparisons so far between 2017/2018 show business levels up by 24% to the end of April. This is due to increasing business levels across all industry sectors, particularly automotive, medical and domestic electronics.
Customer satisfaction is the primary goal at Reel Service and in order to support increasing business levels, particularly for tape & reel service, we are investing over £200K in several new state-of-the-art, high speed, automated tape & reel systems. These additional systems shall provide valuable additional tape & reel capacity allowing us to further complement our existing automated production line and maintain our ability to provide quick turnaround tape and reel service to meet increasing customer expectations. The additional machine capacity is expected to be qualified, commissioned and in operation during Q2.
Our workforce is also growing in order to meet increased customer demand, with a healthy 10% increase in headcount over the last 12 months. Furthermore, we are still actively recruiting for additional open positions across all departments.
